Three Days. That's Interesting.

So yeah, I leave to go back to Bethany in 3 days. It's been a really relaxing break for me. I haven't done a whole lot, but I did manage to visit a friend in the hospital (he's out now, I think) and see a friend I haven't for a few years.

Peachy-keen, Kids. Peachy-keen.

So, Rick Mc called me up today and I found that I failed two classes last semester. The first one was Greek, but to be honest, I'm not too surprised. The other one was History of Christianity. I figured I probably wouldn't do well in it, seeing how I did horribly on the exam and didn't hand in the paper for it. Ah well. Can't change it now, but it'll just mean that I have to finish the paper for supplemental work next semester. I'll also be two credits short, as well, so what's that gonna mean for me? I won't have a life for a while. And for a while, I might mean all semester, so don't be surprised if you don't see me.

I'm trying not to worry about it. Like I said, there's not much I can do about it now, but if I did have the chance to redo last semester, I would. I'd probably be about $300 richer than I am right now, too. Stupid Xbox.

Well, I guess that's all from me for now. Keep enjoying your break.

I Say We Boycott Headaches.

Sometime last night, randomly, I got a massive headache. It was alright this morning but got really crazy in the afternoon. I think its probably the first time in my life I have ever grimaced in pain from a headache before. I tried to sleep it off by having a nap this afternoon, but it failed miserably. Water didn't help, either. I wasn't rid of it until my mom came up with this crazy concoction that actually worked. It was great.

Speaking of headaches. If you ever read the previous version of my blog, you'd probably remember a little rant I went on about the supposed negativity in metal and hardcore. Like I said, there's this supposed idea, especially within Christian circles, that any music that composes of, or includes any form of screaming or growling, must be, then, angry, negative, hateful, etc. It goes on like that. I can't find greater misconception in music than this. One could only look at the lyrics to Angel Without Wings by Zao to see that it is, in no way, negative or hateful. You could also look at a lot of the lyrics to bands like As I Lay Dying or Demon Hunter and see that they are filled with hope.

So what's the big deal with screaming, anyways? I think the reason its been stereotyped as angry is because of the early stages of the metal genre. A bunch of the lyrics, were, well, violent, hateful, angry, etc. Somehow, a mindset was created that all metal (and now hardcore) is a bad influence and inherently evil. Please. It's like calling every German a Jew-hating Nazi. You can't judge a group of people (or, in this case, a genre) based on the actions of the few.

The point? Destroy your preconceived notions. Read into the lyrics and find out what its saying. "You can scream out of things other than hate."

Mustaches, Handlebars, and Explosions.

Okay, so yesterday, we had this little event called "Dirty Stash Day". It's self-explanitory, and it was a great success. Two girls were grossed out to the point of nearly puking. It was great. I had the thin kaiser going on (two other people were sporting kaisers, too. I reffered to us as Team Kaiser Explosion!.), while many people were sporting mustaches and handlebars. 'Twas a good day, with much fun to be had. Not to mention seeing Leighton and Gil sporting it (with Dave Carey sporting the handlebars), too.

The aftermath? I've never seen a school so clean-shaven. As for me, well, I hate being clean. I always look at myself in the morning and say, "My God, what is that thing?"
